Put one foot into Melbourne and you will see what the locals love about it with it’s super chilled culture, it has a little bit of something for anyone that cares to visit.
Families are well catered for, with the likes of things like Melbourne Zoo, which houses some of Australia’s most iconic animals including the Drop bear (just kidding they are too dangerous). haha.
But seriously if you want the chance to be up close with our icons, this is the place to go, have the opportunity to hold a snake or pat one of their kangaroos.
Whatever you choose to see here your bound to leave happy.
Some of the other highlights are Eureka Skydeck 88, Flinders Street Station, Southbank and the Royal Botanical Gardens.
The Royal Botantical Gardens is always enjoyable being only a short walk from the city. The lake being the point of gravity with the Terrace Cafe. If you have the time you can also book yourself a spot on the Garden Explorer tour, this tour will allow you to dig deeper (pun intended) into the gardens.
From December to March, when the Aussie weather is nice and warm, they also hold the Moonlight Cinema starting from 8:30 of an evening.
Melbourne being Melbourne means that you really have to visit the markets. With the markets it is literally a case of pick your poison, with most of them being a highlight for one reason or another.
Here is a great page highlighting some of the markets in melbourne –https://concreteplayground.com/melbourne/design-style/design/the-ten-best-markets-in-melbourne/
